In his first Herd action of the season, D.J. Wilson put in a starring performance befitting of his status as the 17th overall pick in last summer’s NBA draft.
With opportunity having been relatively limited for Wilson so far with the Bucks, the Sacramento native was likely just happy to get a chance to play significant minutes in a competitive game.
Wilson brought energy and played with a confidence that understandably hadn’t been apparent in his previous cameos with the Bucks.
When he was drafted by Milwaukee, much was spoken about Wilson’s ability to shoot the ball, and on Friday in Oshkosh the former Michigan Wolverine put on a shooting clinic.
Wilson shot 9-of-15 from the field and 3-of-5 from deep, en route to a team-high 24 points. Wilson also added four rebounds, four assists and three steals for good measure.
In front of an energized, full to capacity Menominee Nation Arena, Wilson had his greatest opportunity of the year to date to showcase his ability, and he certainly didn’t disappoint.
