Getting foul calls

Rewind to November and Antetokounmpo and Jason Kidd were making all sorts of headlines for missed foul calls. Even as recently as last week against Utah, Antetokounmpo and Sean Sweeney were at each other following a missed foul call by officials. In many ways it’s fair to say that missed foul calls have defined much of the season thus far for Milwaukee.

That wasn’t the case on Saturday night, though, as the Bucks went to the charity stripe a staggering 42 times, which was almost double their opponents on the night. Credit where it’s due, the Bucks’ made their free throws at a very respectable 83 percent too, as time after time, the likes of Antetokounmpo and Bledsoe kept the score ticking over with made free throws.

Even down the stretch, the Bucks’ free throws were vital to maintaining their lead as the clock ticked down.

Antetokounmpo, in particular, lived at the line and put previous struggles behind him by going 17-of-22 at the charity stripe. Free throws are going to become extremely important to Antetokounmpo’s game in the future as refs league-wide become more aware of his game and begin awarding him star calls.

If he can continue to knock them down at almost 80 percent, it will go a long way toward solidifying his stardom and most importantly, winning games for Milwaukee.
