Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 109-104 win over Sacramento Kings
By Ben Sewell
Fourth quarter difficulty
No matter how many the Milwaukee Bucks are up in a game, it’s never safe to assume an easy win is on the cards. Not for the first time (or the last), the Bucks blew a 20-point lead on Saturday night, to lead by only one with less than two minutes remaining in the contest.
Much akin to Thursday night’s game against Portland, Milwaukee won the first three quarters and were up double digits heading into the final period. The Bucks then proceeded to lay an egg in the fourth quarter and almost blow what was a near-perfect three quarters of basketball before that point.
Whether it be nerves, Sacramento turning the screws, or a combination of both, Milwaukee looked like a deer in the headlights (excuse the pun) midway through the fourth quarter. The Kings’ were making their shots, while Milwaukee continued to come up empty on the offensive end.
It took some very strategic timeouts and some clutch plays from Milwaukee’s Big Three to halt Sacramento’s charge as they almost took this one away. As it is, Milwaukee will just be happy to take this win and move on after a tricky Western road trip. One can’t help but be concerned at the ease in which Sacramento emerged back into this game, though, after being so thoroughly outplayed for close to three quarters.
