Major key for Detroit – Don’t lose at the free throw line

The Bucks were the victim of an uncharacteristically hot free throw shooting night from Andre Drummond in the first meeting of these two teams this season, but the charity stripe remains a significant problem for the Pistons.

Not only do the Pistons have to wrestle with a 75 percent success rate from the line (21st in the NBA), but they don’t even earn trips to the stripe all that often. Detroit is 26th in the NBA in terms of free throws attempted per game at 19.1, and will be at risk of facing a sizable free throw differential on the road in Milwaukee.

An early season weakness for the Bucks, Milwaukee is fourth in the NBA in terms of free throw attempts per game (25.2) since the addition of Eric Bledsoe.

The Pistons will have to be mindful as always of making their attempts if they do get the chance to shoot some freebies, but just keeping pace with Milwaukee’s attempts could cause them further concern.
