Milwaukee’s Big Three

In the NBA, team play is important. One liability on the court can be back-breaking for a team. Match-ups are easiest to exploit when everyone is a threat.

Still, All-Stars win games in the NBA. With the addition of Eric Bledsoe the Bucks now have three players who might not be quite at the All-Star threshold but are pretty damn close. If Jabari Parker can come back from injury as explosive as last season, the team will have four fringe All-Star candidates.

The Bucks’ new Big Three proved their worth on Wednesday against the Pistons. The three combined for a total of 68 points on greater than 50 percent shooting, with all three scoring more than 20 points apiece.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the unquestioned leader, and best player of the three. The freshly turned 23-year-old is one of the five to 10 best players in the league, and unless you are the Golden State Warriors, only one of those players exists per team.

While each team might only have one of the elite handful of players, all contenders need multiple legitimate secondary stars. So far this season, and particularly as of late, Middleton and Bledsoe have proven to be those options for the Bucks.
