Positive takeaway

Although the Herd suffered a couple of offensive dry spells that proved costly on Wednesday night, on the whole they didn’t find it difficult to rack points up on the Delaware 87ers.

With 112 points in this game, the Herd have now scored over 100 points in eight of their last nine games, and only twice in their 12 total games have they fallen below that mark.

Unsurprisingly, Xavier Munford was again the man leading the scoring charge for Wisconsin on Wednesday, finishing with a game-high 28 points on 12-of-20 from the field.

With James Young off his game a little, perhaps still feeling the effects of the illness that kept him out of Monday’s win, and Cliff Alexander ejected in the third quarter, the Herd only received a combined 19 points from that generally reliable offensive duo.

Still, further proving the lack of difficulty that Jordan Brady’s team have when it comes to scoring the ball, the supporting cast stepped up to carry some of the offensive load.

Cam Oliver impressed with 25 points, Jarvis Summers continued his recent good play with 14 points off the bench, Kyle Casey started fast and finished with 12 points, while JeQuan Lewis regained some form with 10 points of his own.

Although 112 points didn’t prove to be enough to secure a win on this occasion, if the Herd’s offense can keep up its current pace, they should continue to be successful over the course of the season.
