Player of the game

Of the various high profile players on the Wisconsin Herd’s roster, former Nevada big man Cameron Oliver has been easily the quietest of the group to start the season.

Having, somewhat surprisingly, gone undrafted in the summer’s NBA draft, Oliver is now working hard at the G League level to prove his ability as a professional player.

An explosive performance from the 21-year-old on Wednesday was the clearest indication of his talent yet, though.

Known for his ability to finish explosively around the basket, Oliver put on an impressive all-around performance in this one.

When Cliff Alexander’s night finished up early due to his ejection, Oliver was given extended minutes later in the game, and he made the most of them even if it came in garbage time.

Oliver finished with a season-high 25 points on 11-of-15 from the field, while also adding in six rebounds and two blocked shots for good measure.
