Wisconsin Herd fall flat in second half, lose to Erie BayHawks
By Adam McGee
Concerning takeaway
Not only was this a rough shooting night for the Herd, but it was some of their most important players who were bogging down the offense with those misses too.
At this point all Herd fans should be familiar with just how streaky James Young can be, and although he racked up 18 points against the BayHawks, he did so in very inefficient fashion.
Young finished the game having shot 7-of-21 from the field and 3-of-12 from deep, and was increasingly eager in the second half as he tried desperately to shoot the Herd out of the hole they were digging for themselves.
Young wasn’t the only key rotation player to struggle either.
Cliff Alexander had a strong night on the boards with 12 rebounds, but his 13 points came on 4-of-10 from the field. Although that’s by no means terrible, it’s not quite as efficient as we’ve come to expect from Alexander, who does most of his work around the basket.
Jarvis Summers struggled to get anything to fall, failing to make a triple and shooting 1-of-7 from the field overall in his 32 minutes of play.
Even with good nights from the likes of Oliver and Xavier Munford, it’s close to impossible to overcome shooting nights as poor as this one.
