Sharing the scoring load

Although it took them two extra players to do so, the Bucks matched the Rockets’ bench scoring, coming up with 36 points.

While Malcolm Brogdon was the obvious driver of that with his 20 points, every Buck who entered the game scored on Saturday, which certainly hasn’t been a common occurrence of late.

For the season to date, the Bucks are dead last in bench points with only 23.6 per game and finding a way to outperform that number was always going to be vital for keeping up with Houston.

That sense of a collective effort spread across into the starting lineup too, as although Giannis led the way with 28 points, Khris Middleton and Eric Bledsoe offered capable support with 23 and 19 points respectively.

Getting some players back from injury to improve depth will certainly help the Bucks’ bench, but this was an example that even with their current available options they’re capable of delivering balanced scoring efforts from time to time.
