Major key for Charlotte – Make some shots

Although there’s no single reason that can be pinpointed to explain Charlotte’s struggles this season, there is one deficiency that jumps off the page as a contributing factor.

The primary reason that Charlotte’s rebounding should be giving them a major advantage is that it limits opponents from picking up extra shots and allows the Hornets to get some second chance looks of their own on the other end of the floor.

On the season to date, the Hornets haven’t come close to capitalizing on that advantage though, because their shooting has been incredibly poor.

The Hornets rank 29th in field goal percentage (43.7 percent), 27th in three-point percentage (34.6 percent), 27th in free throw percentage (72.9 percent) and 27th in true shooting percentage (53 percent).

If they’re to get the better of the Bucks, the Hornets will likely have to shoot better than all of those season averages, meaning that Charlotte’s players will have to step up to buck some trends.
