Superman Returns

After scoring only two points in five minutes of action against the Bucks in Milwaukee on Friday night, Dwight Howard completely dominated the game on Saturday. The big man scored a team-high 21 points and hauled in 16 rebounds. Howard was an extremely efficient 7-of-11 from the field.

Howard’s rebounding in particular played a large role in the contest as the Hornets grabbed 54 rebounds to the Bucks’ 42. This advantage for the Hornets is vastly different than Friday night’s totals when the Bucks out rebounded Charlotte 53-49 while Howard played only five minutes due to an injury.

The Bucks have often struggled to match up with true bigs. Just recently DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis combined to shoot 20-32 for 51 points on the Bucks. Other teams undoubtedly know this as well and use it to their advantage.

The Hornets did just that and used Howard’s physical presence to own the glass and control the paint while sneaking away with a much needed win.
