Milwaukee Bucks Game Preview: January 6 at Washington Wizards
By Adam McGee
Major key for Washington – Dominate the glass
When these two teams met earlier in the season, the final score of 99-88 did something of a disservice to the Wizards as they were far more dominant than the 11-point margin suggested.
While the Wizards got a well-rounded scoring effort from their players and finished that game with six guys with at least double digits in points, it was really Washington’s rebounding that made the difference.
The Wizards finished with 46 rebounds to Milwaukee’s 33, and that difference was largely created by the dominance of Washington’s starting frontcourt.
Marcin Gortat, Markieff Morris and Otto Porter combined for 33 rebounds of their own, preventing Milwaukee from getting extra scoring opportunities and creating second chances for themselves.
Gortat’s play inside has often troubled the Bucks in the past, and the rebounding battle will be an all-important one in this meeting between the teams too.
