Giannis Antetokounmpo #NBAVote

On Saturday night, Giannis Antetokounmpo came, saw and conquered the nation’s capital. In nearly 41 minutes of action, the leading All-Star vote getter put up 34 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the field (1-of-1 from deep), 12 rebounds, seven assists, three turnovers, two steals, a block and was a +14 on the night.

While it may have taken him a bit to get the touches he needed, Giannis didn’t waste many of his scoring opportunities last night as he was clicking on all cylinders on the offensive end.

As is often the case for opposing teams, the Wizards didn’t have an answer for when Giannis would pick up steam in the open floor with the ball in his hands, which helped earn him his many trips to the free throw line as he went 9-for-10 for the game. To make matters worse for them, Giannis’ jumper was on point all throughout the night, no matter the degree of difficulty of his shots.

However, Giannis’ night and the Bucks’ chances of winning hung in the balance after he registered his fifth foul of the game at the 6:18 mark of the fourth quarter.

After getting a few minutes on the bench, Antetokounmpo was inserted back on the floor and promptly hit some clutch buckets and provided great defense to alter what would have been sure points otherwise to help seal the game and earn the Bucks’ 21st victory on the season.

It was as calculating and effective of a performance as we’ve seen from Giannis this season and just another notch on his ascendance to superstardom.
