A Sterling effort

Let’s start with a positive, because trust me, it’ll get pretty grim from here.

Second round draft pick Sterling Brown has shown signs of real promise when he’s been afforded cameos with the Bucks so far this season, and Monday’s performance was his best yet.

When Brown entered the game for the first time at the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Bucks had scored zero bench points for the game and trailed by 23 points overall. Not only did Brown’s contribution help the scoreline to look more respectable, but he even got the deficit back below 10 points for a brief moment.

Brown was a perfect 4-of-4 from the field, including three triples, while also adding in two steals and an assist. Brown was a deadeye shooter in college who is now 5-of-9 on the season from deep, while perhaps even more importantly he has an NBA ready physique that means he has no problems competing at this level.

A hint of over-aggression was the only negative of Brown’s performance as he racked up four personal fouls. That’s something he’ll need to work on going forward, as based on this performance, he should be getting much greater opportunity from this point on.
