Sterling was freed

Perhaps the most encouraging wrinkle of the Bucks’ win against the Magic Wednesday night was the breakthrough role Sterling Brown played in the Bucks’ performance.

In just over 21 minutes of play, the second round rookie scored just two points on 1-of-4 shooting from the field (0-of-2 from deep), grabbed seven rebounds and had one steal off the bench.

While Brown’s offensive output was rather nondescript, it was the intensity and activity he brought on the defensive end that more than made up for it, which obviously head coach Jason Kidd approved of considering he stuck with the SMU product in his substitution pattern throughout the game.

It’s still early to tell whether this marks as a turning point for how he’ll be used from here on out within the team’s rotation, but it was incredibly encouraging to see Brown soak up significant minutes and provide a spark in his role.
