Major key for Milwaukee – Forcing and capitalizing off turnovers

A big part of the Bucks’ formula for success in head coach Jason Kidd’s eyes is getting easy scoring opportunities, particularly doing so by forcing turnovers (while using a defective defensive scheme, as we all know too well at this point).

While they’ve been able to boost other areas of their offensive output in the last couple of seasons, the Bucks currently rank eighth in scoring points off turnovers per game (17.7) and seventh in fast break points per game (13.7) this year, per NBA.com/stats.

One would think the Bucks’ penchant for wanting to get out in transition would be a point of emphasis to hone in on for the Heat.

However, the Heat’s Achilles’ Heel so far this season, which the Bucks could exploit very well, is committing turnovers and opposing teams capitalizing off of them as they rank 23rd in turnover percentage (15.5) and 16th in opponent points off turnovers per game (16.4).

With both of those points in mind, we’ll see how well the Bucks can go about using the Heat’s weakness to their advantage throughout the game, that is if their faults defensively don’t get exploited first. Which brings me to…
