B+. Without his team’s best player and with minimal time to adjust to the significant changes of the day, it’s hard to do anything other than commend Joe Prunty for a job well done on Monday night.

It’s too early to read too much into some of the differences that were evident in how Prunty coached the team, but based also on his one game stint as interim coach earlier in the season, there is one potential trend worth paying attention too.

Prunty is not only prepared to give his bench players extended run, but he’s also open to playing bench-heavy lineups more frequently. That will certainly lead to mixed results, but on a night when the bench only managed a total of nine points, it at least demonstrates a willingness to experiment to see if some kind of spark can be unlocked.
