Player of the game

Making his sixth appearance with the Herd for the year, D.J. Wilson arguably put together his most comfortable and impactful performance in his assignment Wednesday afternoon.

In 30 minutes of action, Wilson scored 25 points on 11-of-20 shooting from the field (3-of-6 from downtown), brought down 10 rebounds, grabbed four steals, registered three turnovers, had a block and was a +3 for the day.

All game long, Wilson was knocking down shots from long range, was especially active on the glass and turning that into scores and even put in some solid finishes driving his way to the hoop.

On the defensive end, Wilson was locked in throughout most of the game as he was bothersome using his length when opposing players drove to the bucket to alter shots and was great at anticipating and sliding over to help force turnovers and breaking out in transition as a result.

Considering playing time and opportunities have been hard to come by on the NBA level for the rookie forward, putting in the kind of performance he had Wednesday will go a long way in instilling confidence for Wilson as he continues to acclimate to the professional setting.
