A pair of Herd debuts

Just over 24 hours after being officially acquired by the team, Saturday afternoon marked the Herd debuts for both Ricky Ledo and James Blackmon Jr.

It was something of a full circle moment for Ledo as he was drafted by the Bucks with the 43rd overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft before they sent his draft rights to eventually bring in one-time cult favorite Nate Wolters.

Getting a nod in the team’s starting lineup, Ledo struggled mightily throughout the day and sort of stuck out like a sore thumb by disrupting the flow of the Herd’s offense, scoring just eight points on 3-of-10 shooting from the field (2-of-5 from downtown), hauling down five rebounds and registering four turnovers in his 29 minutes of play.

As far as Blackmon’s debut went, the undrafted product from Indiana came off the bench and was certainly engaged on both ends of the floor. In the end, though, the final product wasn’t there for Blackmon as he produced just five points on 2-of-5 shooting from the field (1-of-4 from downtown) in his 17 minutes of burn.

One game into their respective tenures and both Ledo and Blackmon will surely look to move past their forgettable debuts when the Herd next step foot on the floor.
