Player of the game

After a relatively mixed performance last time out with the Herd, Xavier Munford was the engine for the slumping squad on Saturday afternoon against the Raptors 905.

In 35 minutes of action, Munford posted 24 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field (2-of-4 from deep), seven rebounds, five assists, a turnover and block each and was a -4 on the day.

While the Bucks’ two-way player took some time finding his footing once we got down to business, Munford picked it up in a big way in what had been an incredibly quiet and ineffective second quarter for the Herd up until that point.

Whether it was beating his defender off the dribble and attacking the rack or sinking shots from mid-range, Munford gave the Herd some much needed life to help close out the first half on a positive note.

Munford struggled to keep at the same pace throughout the remainder of the game, but still managed to make a pair of trips to the line and sunk a three midway through the fourth to keep in range of the 905 before the game ultimately swung their way. Nonetheless, it was good to see Munford look like his normal self, even in what ended up being a losing effort for the Herd.
