Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 107-95 win over Philadelphia 76ers

A Sterling effort
Never mind sterling silver, it looks like the Bucks managed to find some Sterling gold in the second round of last year’s draft.
As the NBA has evolved, 3-and-D wings have become one of the league’s most valuable commodities. When a player who fits that description possesses the combination of size and speed to play multiple positions, that value only sky rockets further.
With Sterling Brown continuing to consolidate his place in Milwaukee’s rotation, he looks to be a player who checks off all of those boxes.
Brown is eager and aggressive, but he also plays with a confidence and intelligence way beyond his limited NBA experience. Combine all of that with a skill-set that is well-rounded and was honed over the course of a full term at SMU, and the kind of production that the Illinois native is starting to deliver shouldn’t be all that surprising.
On Monday, the rookie showcased his full range of talents, posting 10 points and two rebounds on 4-of-7 from the field and 2-of-3 from deep. Brown moved to 44.4 percent from distance on the season with that performance, but he also provided a further glimpse of his ability to put the ball on the floor as he just failed to execute what would have been one of the dunks of the season over Amir Johnson.
Throw in Brown’s average of 8.7 rebounds per 100 possessions for the season to date, his reliable and worthwhile defensive efforts, and there’s a lot to be excited about for his role in the Bucks’ future.
