Missing Malcolm

By far the biggest news of Thursday night’s game was the injury to reigning Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon, which occurred midway through the second quarter.

After receiving a pass from Khris Middleton in what ended up being an easy breakaway slam dunk, Brogdon came down in clear discomfort, unable to put any weight down on his left leg as he hovered near the stanchion.

Seconds later and after Thon Maker intentionally fouled an opposing player to stop play, Brogdon sat and laid down on the floor as members of the Bucks’ training staff tended to him. Just a minute or two later, Brogdon was helped off the floor by teammates, Xavier Munford and D.J. Wilson, and obviously didn’t return back to the game after his injury was deemed as a left quad tendon strain following an initial prognosis.

Of course, being a Bucks fan for however long you’ve been, initial prognoses hold little weight when compared to getting an MRI done the following day, as Malcolm will surely get at some point Friday when the team returns back to Milwaukee. As Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel tweeted after the game, Brogdon left the arena on crutches and with a stabiilzing cast on his injured leg.

It should go without saying that all Bucks fans are hoping that Brogdon’s injury isn’t as serious as it appeared to be, but considering the long list of injury woes the Bucks have had in recent history, it’s hard to blame anyone fearing the worst.
