Major key for Miami – Better shooting

The Heat have lost five straight and are just 3-7 over their last 10 games, which has seen them fall off the homecourt pace in the East a little.

One of the biggest differences between a generally steady and reliable Heat team and what they have been of late comes in the form of their shooting. The Heat weren’t the league’s best shooting team by any means to begin with, but that left them with even less margin of error to fall off.

Shooting 35.7 percent from deep on the season overall, Miami has managed to make just 28.8 percent of their triples over their last five games.

Across that span, only Josh Richardson has managed to shoot 40 percent or better from three-point range, but even more problematic for Miami has been the fact that everyone else other than Goran Dragic has shot less than 30 percent.

If the Heat can’t pick up their shooting, they’ll be up against it on Friday night.
