Kilpatrick kills it in the first half

Sean Kilpatrick came off the bench early in the first half, and gave his team a very nice scoring punch. After a sluggish start for the Bucks, Kilpatrick’s contributions were just what the Bucks needed to stay in the game.

In the first half, the journeyman guard scored nine points, going 3-of-5 from the field in 13 minutes. He was less effective in the second half, failing to score in 11 minutes.

While his opportunities have been rare since he joined the Bucks, the former Bearcat has shown an ability to provide this kind of spark in the second unit. He deserves a lot of credit for staying ready, and making the most of his chances.

General manager John Horst’s decision to stand pat at the trade deadline may have created a golden opportunity for Kilpatrick. The Bucks are going to lack depth in the backcourt until Malcolm Brogdon and Matthew Dellevadova return to the lineup.

Against Orlando, Kilpatrick showed that he can be of assistance. He’s not flashy, but he may be a difference maker over the next few weeks. You know who is flashy? Jason Terry!
