Concerning takeaway

While both teams ended up dead even in the rebounding battle with 47 each, it was the rebounding disparity between the Nets and the Herd on the offensive glass that was a different tale for how the night shook out in that regard.

On the night, the Nets corralled down 21 offensive rebounds compared to the Herd’s four boards. To delve deeper into that, the Nets scored 18 second chance points to which the Herd fared a little better in that area by scoring 10 second chance points in their own right.

With both teams playing small lineups for significant stretches of the game, the Nets were the ones that were not only positioned better to chase down long rebounds but showed more fight to reestablish possessions time and time again.

Although it didn’t manage to come back to haunt the Herd in the end, it could have easily swung the game had the Nets connected on a couple of more shots that didn’t go down last night.
