Major key for Milwaukee – Get Giannis going
With standards as high as Giannis Antetokounmpo‘s, occasional down spells are going to be inevitable, and even though it’s going under the radar somewhat, he’s currently going through such a run.
Having played 10 games in February so far, Antetokounmpo is averaging just 23.7 points per game, and the biggest driver in that drop in his scoring has been a slip in his efficiency.
Shooting 53.5 percent from the field on the season overall, Giannis is at just 48.2 percent for his last 10 games. To go along with that, Antetokounmpo is averaging just 7.0 free throw attempts per game and making just 67.1 percent of the season, both comfortably his lowest marks for any given month this year.
As much as Eric Bledsoe, Khris Middleton and Jabari Parker can drive the Bucks forward and help to win their fair share of games, the Bucks’ ceiling will still be determined by just how well Giannis plays.
Following a game where he had very limited opportunity to make an impact offensively in the second half and overtime, the onus on the Bucks should be getting Antetokounmpo back into rhythm and to the peak of his confidence again.
