Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 110-99 loss to Houston Rockets
A challenging night for Jabari
Wednesday night proved to be a rare off-night for Jabari Parker since assuming his super-sub role after coming back from injury over a month ago.
Checking in just over five minutes into the game, Parker struggled to find his shot early on in his run, which steadily lingered on throughout the rest of his night. Before long, Parker was frequently in the sights of all three of the Rockets’ main ball handlers in Harden, Paul and Eric Gordon by putting Parker through the ringer and forcing him to defend one-on-one as the last line of defense at the rim or pulling up from on or beyond the perimeter.
Parker saved some face by knocking down a couple of scores at the beginning of the fourth quarter, but his night came to an earlier close than has been the norm over his last couple of games.
In total, Parker finished with 10 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field (0-of-1 from three), three assists, two rebounds, a steal and a turnover each and was a -6 in over 25 minutes of action.
Through all of the ups he’s experienced as of late, it would have been foolish to think Parker wouldn’t take his lumps on some nights to go along with it. On to the next one, as they say.
