Major key for Milwaukee – Play to the pace of their choosing

While the Magic rank ninth in the NBA in pace, the Bucks fall on the other end of the spectrum at 24th.

Considering Milwaukee’s roster and many of their best players’ strengths, there’s a valid case to be made for the Bucks playing at a much higher pace, although that’s not necessarily an adjustment that can be made over night.

To control the game on Wednesday, the Bucks will have to dictate the pace of the game. That may well involve slowing things down relative to the Magic’s usual pace, but it doesn’t mean Milwaukee’s overall approach should be a languid one.

Pushing the pace off every rebound may not be in the Bucks’ best interest in this matchup, but at least bringing an urgency when they cross halfcourt is essential. The Bucks need to start showing more purpose in their play, particularly in swinging the ball around, and this game wouldn’t be a bad place to start with that focus.
