Milwaukee Bucks Game Preview: March 23 at Chicago Bulls
By Adam McGee
Major key for Milwaukee – Focus on fundamentals
Although I certainly wouldn’t be naive enough to say Giannis Antetokounmpo’s potential absence could prove to be a blessing in disguise for the Bucks, there’s certainly something that his teammates could take from such an experience.
Quite simply, a Bucks team without Antetokounmpo is a Bucks team without a security blanket. Having struggled with their play of late, even with their superstar, the Bucks will have to lock in and produce a much more polished performance if they are to win without him.
Against a Bulls team they should still be able to beat comfortably, the Bucks need to focus on creating and taking high quality looks, reducing turnovers and maintaining focus on the defensive end. Sure, virtuoso performances from any one of Khris Middleton, Jabari Parker or Eric Bledsoe are all possible, but they’re not quite the nightly occurrence that such games from their Greek teammate tend to be.
Based on recent play, that kind of solid and responsible team performance may still be a challenge, but without their “Get Out of Jail Free” card, it’s a challenge the Bucks may have to overcome to avoid humiliation.
