Positive takeaway

Considering the result as well as the disparity of it, there wasn’t much of anything that stood out in any one category in a positive sense for the Herd in their loss to the Charge Friday night. With that said, they certainly found ways to be effective in order to keep up with the Charge from practically the opening tip.

The Herd certainly got the benefit of the doubt compared to Canton when it came to getting calls from the night’s officials as they made their way to the foul line on 32 trips, converting 25 of those attempts (by comparison, the Charge recorded 11 free throw attempts and knocked down eight of them).

The other area the Herd executed well in was capitalizing on their chances on the break, seeing that they finished the night with 19 fast break points, which stands nearly seven points higher than their season average in that department. Unfortunately, the Charge just edged them out in that regard as they posted 20 fast break points for the game.

At their best, the Herd played decent to well in certain aspects of their performance. But it turned out their best wasn’t nearly as good enough compared to the Charge’s on Friday night.
