C+. In a strange twist, the Bucks looked good in the first and third quarters in Sunday’s action. Despite this, Milwaukee struggled to hang on to their lead and almost let it get away in the fourth. Joe Prunty gave the the lineup of Antetokounmpo, Middleton, Bledsoe, Parker, and Henson a longer look today than he has in the past, and it seemed to be working well. This was a welcome change, as the trio of Antetokounmpo, Middleton, and Parker has been absolutely dreadful since Parker returned from knee injury.
It appeared as if Milwaukee might put a full game together and dominate a hot opponent, but some questionable lineups in the second half let the big lead dwindle down. The extended Shabazz Muhammad, and Brandon Jennings pairing was extremely beneficial to San Antonio who were looking to get back in the game. It was an interesting test to see how bad of a defensive lineup Milwaukee could send out.

Extended minutes for lineups like the ones Prunty showed in the third and fourth quarter are what can lead to games getting away from your team. These players are going to have to get minutes at some point during the game, with the injuries Milwaukee is nursing. However, some more staggering between them can mitigate the damage that is being caused by them all sharing the floor at once.

Fortunately, Antetokounmpo was able to do enough to bail Milwaukee out and keep the team afloat while trying to hold off the surging Spurs.

.
