Major key for Milwaukee – Start fast in both halves

Although the Bucks stuttered toward the end of the second and fourth quarters in Sunday’s win over the Spurs, they managed to hold on in what should prove to be a valuable lesson.

The Bucks have much more frequently been slow to start both halves and then forced into trying to make sizable comebacks, than they’ve been in that position of control they had against San Antonio.

A quick start doesn’t just build confidence and set the tone for the rest of the game to come, but also seizes the initiative and lays down a gauntlet for the opponent to navigate.

It sounds simple and painfully obvious, but the chances of securing a win are much greater for a team who can build an early lead and allow themselves margin for error later in the contest. The Bucks got a taste of that on Sunday, and particularly on the road, they’d be well-advised to come out with similar intensity to begin both halves on Tuesday night.
