Major key for Brooklyn – Let fly from deep

Accounting for the Bucks’ own deficiencies and the strengths and the focus of some of their recent opponents, it seems like a lot of this column has been dedicated to opponent three-point shooting of late.

With the volume of triples the Nets put up, there’s no danger of that changing for this game.

The Nets rank second to only the Houston Rockets in terms of total three-point attempts and made three-point field goals for the season to date. In terms of per game numbers, that translates to Kenny Atkinson’s team shooting 35.2 threes per night.

Brooklyn are by no means one of the league’s most efficient three-point shooting teams, but from time to time their volume of attempts gives them life in games they should otherwise have no chance in.

With 12.4 made triples per game, the Nets are good for an average of 37 points from deep on a nightly basis. The danger for Milwaukee comes in potentially letting them shoot above their average.

The Bucks have been punished from deep by some mediocre three-point shooting teams of late, but any complacency in terms of three-point defense against a team as active as the Nets are in that department could lead to catastrophic results for Milwaukee.
