Money talks

With their leading superstar scorer, Giannis Antetokounmpo, struggling to find the bottom of the net all night long, the Bucks were in need of someone to supply a reliable scoring punch in hope of swinging the game in their favor.

As it turned out, it was a role that sixth-year swingman Khris Middleton promptly filled throughout the team’s loss to the Nets on Thursday night.

Playing nearly 36 minutes for the night, Middleton finished with a game-high 31 points on 9-of-14 shooting from the field (2-of-3 from deep), four rebounds, three assists, two turnovers as well as two steals and was a -10.

Middleton was as methodical as he often is in his approach from connecting from his favored spots on the floor. His scoring output was boosted by his ability to get to the foul line as he converted on all 11 of his attempts from the stripe, which ranks as a season-high for the 26-year-old.

Considering the Bucks were in desperate need of someone rising up to lead the way, Middleton’s efforts certainly didn’t go unnoticed as the team clawed their way in trying to lock down a winning result. Unfortunately, it didn’t shake out that way.
