Milwaukee Bucks: Takeaways from 119-111 loss to Brooklyn Nets
A mixed night for Jabari
While he certainly wasn’t just one of the more recognizable Bucks to struggle on Thursday night, forward Jabari Parker‘s outing versus the Nets was very much a mixed bag at best.
Coming off the bench in his super-sub role, Parker struggled to connect from all levels of the floor for the majority of the night, even going as far putting up a shot under the net midway through the second period. Even with his scoring struggles, Parker played a role in fueling the Bucks’ run in the third quarter by penetrating the paint and setting up scoring opportunities for others such as Tyler Zeller.
On the defensive end, however, the combination of Parker’s lack of awareness and half-hearted closeouts left the Bucks hanging out to dry on multiple occasions and especially when the Nets were firing away from three-point land.
All in all, Parker posted 13 points on 6-of-21 shooting from the field (0-of-4 from three), 10 rebounds, two assists as well as two turnovers, one steal and was dead even in terms of plus-minus in his 31 and a half minutes of action.
With all of the growing uncertainty surrounding his playing future as well as his curious comments on the topic, Parker’s play has been plenty erratic as of late, making him a bigger target for those who have soured on the overall package he brings. For that, it’s on Parker to prove his naysayers wrong, provided he can find some consistency heading into the team’s playoff run.
