All about that Bazz, no treble

After being on the sidelines last time out with an injury, Shabazz Muhammad provided a lift off the bench for the Bucks in more ways than one in the win over the Magic Monday night.

Upon entering in the latter stages of the first quarter, Muhammad came out firing by nearly scoring double figures mere minutes into his first taste of action for the game.

While Muhammad’s scoring punch quickly faded, much like the team’s overall offensive play throughout the first several minutes of the second quarter, the 25-year-old supplied some much needed energy and hustle by crashing the glass on offense and forcing the issue at the rim to earn the benefit of the doubt from the night’s officials (Muhammad finished the night a perfect 7-of-7 from the foul line).

Soon enough, Muhammad picked up his scoring in the third quarter with his trademark spinning lefty jump hooks within the post or in the paint.

All in all, the UCLA product finished with a game-high 22 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field (1-of-2 from three), eight rebounds and was a +11 in nearly 24 minutes of burn.

With the playoffs looming, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of role Muhammad plays, that is if he does at all. In any event, Muhammad has heeded the call, especially on the nights when Giannis Antetokounmpo has been sidelined with injury or for precautionary measures.
