Three-point expensed

While it leveled off as the night wore on, the 76ers’ hot three-point shooting was a big element in doing in the Bucks on Wednesday night.

On the night, the 76ers finished 15-of-36 from three (41.7 percent), a sharp contrast to the Bucks’ mark from beyond the arc (the Bucks put up 7-of-25 from deep).

Even without noted three-point sniper J.J. Redick, who was a late scratch due to lower back tightness, the 76ers were powered beyond the perimeter by the likes of Justin Anderson, Marco Belinelli and Dario Saric, who combined to go 11-of-28 from downtown.

Of course, the Bucks certainly made matters better for the 76ers’ in this regard as they were often exploited by the 76ers’ heavy ball movement and deferential play, which opened up multiple attempts from both corner spots (as a side note, the 76ers amassed 35 assists on their 52 made field goals, which falls just short of tying their single game season-high this year).

Again, that last point shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, considering that has long been their downfall defensively under this current coaching regime. One can only anticipate what damage will be done in this area of the game once the Bucks’ playoff series begins this weekend…
