Head-to-Head

While it can’t be said for every matchup that could prove to be significant in this series, Middleton and Tatum both played in all four of the regular season games between the Bucks and Celtics.

In comparing the basic per game numbers from those games, Khris Middleton comes out with the superior numbers in terms of sheer volume.

Against the Celtics, Middleton averaged 17.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game this season. On the other side of the coin, when Tatum played Milwaukee he averaged 14.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

Where the noticeable differences come in is when we turn to efficiency. Tatum has been red-hot with his shot whenever he’s faced the Bucks, as backed up by his 50 percent from the field and 47.3 percent from three-point range.

In those same contests, Middleton has countered with 45.6 percent from the field and 25 percent from deep. So although Middleton outscored Tatum by an average of three points per game when the two went head-to-head this season, the rookie attempted 6.3 field goal attempts fewer in putting up his tallies.
