Get it to the Greek

After putting up gaudy numbers in Game 1 over the weekend, superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo was there to carry the load for the Bucks in their loss on Tuesday night in a much more efficient outing.

Playing a second over 43 minutes, Antetokounmpo finished with a team-high 30 points on 13-of-17 shooting from the field (0-of-1 from three), nine rebounds, eight assists, three turnovers, a steal and a block each and was a -13 on the night.

Giannis was locked in early on, putting home tough shot after tough shot to get the team going for the night. That set the tone for his overall performance as the team relied on the 23-year-old to influence the game in the various ways he can offensively.

Antetokounmpo’s play on the defensive end looked much improved compared to last time out as he occasionally held his own while being matched up on the ultra-savvy Celtics big man Al Horford for the majority of the night.

With that said, flaws inevitably surfaced in Giannis’ night, such as his effectiveness from the free throw line (Antetokounmpo went 4-of-9 from the foul line) and Bucks fans held their breath when it seemingly appeared that Giannis rolled his ankle after earning an and-one midway through the fourth quarter.

In any event, Giannis was one of a rare few who helped lead the way for the Bucks on the night, an all too familiar story for this season so far that looks to be wrapping up much sooner than later.
