Joe Prunty

Prunty on whether the season was a disappointment:

"“No. I mean, if you’re asking me if I want to still be playing? Heck yeah. And would I want to be playing all the way until June? Yeah, absolutely, there’s no question there. But that having been said, we took steps in the right direction.”"

Prunty on how he’s handled the last three months:

"“I think we handled it well. All of us. I think as an organization they’ve been very fair to us, in terms of the change was made and the opportunities that we were presented. You know, so ownership, management gave us a tremendous opportunity to continue to try and build on the things that we talked about accomplishing at the beginning of the year. Now, did we fall short of the things we wanted to accomplish? Yes. And it wasn’t for lack of trying, it wasn’t for lack of effort. But I would say, we appreciate all the things that we were afforded. We worked hard as a team, as a staff, as an organization. I was impressed with our ability to continue to battle night in and night out.”"

Prunty on the next step in terms of his future or the organization’s coaching search:

"“I don’t know exact step-by-step, but you know, ownership, management has been very open and honest about all of that. And we’ve been step-by-step to this point, and really what we’ve been more than anything else is focused on trying to win games and win the series. But they’ve been great in terms of telling me exactly what’s going on, and to be honest with you, I think at this stage we all thought we would still be playing and were hoping that we would be playing, so I don’t know literally what the next step is.”"
