Fit with the Bucks

As both Givony and Hoy mentioned, it’s quite easy to imagine Holiday’s role with the Bucks, should they consider him at 17 or possibly maneuver a deal to snag another selection in this year’s draft.

With the likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton able to handle the majority of offensive possessions, Holiday would be a worthy player to help space the floor and capitalize on the quality looks that would be generated with those two in particular drawing defenders their way.

It certainly helps that Holiday is able to create scoring chances for himself and others for stretches as well, with the hope being that aspect of his game will smooth out as he acclimates to the NBA level in the years to come.

But as ideal as that scenario stands in theory, it all depends on how willing the Bucks are in terms of shaking up their roster heading into a critical offseason and having to deliver on the superstar window that’s currently open with Antetokounmpo.

At the moment, the Bucks are three deep with the point guards they have on their roster with Eric Bledsoe, Malcolm Brogdon and Matthew Dellavedova. Barring a trade developing this offseason that involves any of those players, point guard is technically not a position of need at this writing.

Those circumstances shouldn’t detract from what kind of player Holiday can be if he does truly wow the Bucks to force their hand when they’re on the clock on draft night. Considering their recent history of first round selections, the Bucks can’t afford to let another first round pick fail to round into an impactful player at the very minimum.

Based on the strengths in his play, the jump in his individual playing level and his overall fit within the team, Holiday might be the instant contributor the Bucks are searching for at the moment.
