Weaknesses

A lot of the reason for concern about Williams’ game centers around his intangibles, whether it’s questions about his motor or the discipline he currently holds on both ends of the floor.

With the amount of raw athleticism and the physical gifts that permeate every facet of his game, the hope will be that Williams can hone that aspect of his development over time as he settles into the NBA.

Along with that, it’s hard to envision Williams providing an effective impact outside of the paint on offense.

Considering he often played as a 4 in the Aggies’ two-big system, Williams’ offensive arsenal is woefully incomplete as his shooting mechanics and free throw numbers indicate (Williams shot 54.1 percent from the foul line over his two seasons at Texas A&M).

Under a simplified, specific role that is well suited for his qualities, Williams’ weaknesses may stand out less if he’s able to maximize his potential. But that also relies on Williams smoothing out the flaws in his game that he has complete control over at this point in time.
