One of the most notable international prospects to have declared for this year’s NBA Draft, what can Dzanan Musa bring to an NBA team?

Who is Dzanan Musa?

Dzanan Musa is a 19-year-old wing, who’s currently plying his trade in Croatia for KK Cedevita, and was born in Bihać, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Musa moved to Zagreb to join Cedevita as a 15-year-old, and has since developed a reputation as one of the most prodigious talents in European basketball.

More from Bucks Draft

Musa has been described by notable draft experts as “the most polished young scorer of his generation outside of [Luka] Doncic” and “one of the most decorated scorers in FIBA youth history“.

In other words, although he’s not necessarily a household name in the U.S., Musa already has a significant reputation — and a confidence that goes with that — to bring to the NBA.

If there’s any subsection of NBA fans already vaguely familiar with Musa, it’s likely Milwaukee’s. Musa had a highly publicized and contentious clash with teammate and former Buck Mirza Teletovic while playing for the Bosnian national team back in 2016.

In terms of his future, Musa officially submitted his paperwork for the draft in April, and relayed to ESPN’s Jonathan Givony that he was determined to come across the Atlantic early and give teams a chance to get a closer look at his talents in the run-up to draft night.

"“I can show my humility, work ethic and personality, because I haven’t been allowed to have close contact with them. I’m looking to take everything that’s in front of me in this process. I want to show the team who picks me who I really am and that I will do whatever it takes for the team.”"

With all of that in mind, let’s take a closer look at Musa’s strengths and weaknesses, the consensus about him as a prospect, and how he might fit with the Bucks.
