Summer focus and final grade

Despite the strides he may have experienced individually in his second year, the Bucks’ collective results didn’t sit well with Brogdon as he voiced in his exit interview following the end of the season.

Brogdon expressing the very same frustrations all Bucks fans were airing throughout their lowest points of the year was somewhat cathartic, especially after the expectations some team officials and players were acknowledging well before the start of training camp.

How that will set the table for the Bucks, who are in the midst of finding their next head coach and are putting on the final touches for their new home, remains to be seen in the wake of this year. For Brogdon, however, it’s undeniable what next year will mean in the scope of his NBA career.

After all, next season stands as a crucial one in his young career, considering he’ll be entering it as an impending unrestricted free agent.

While that adds a layer of uncertainty over what his future holds in Milwaukee beyond next season, the same motivating factors that applied to Brogdon last summer continue to apply for him this offseason.

As will the expectations the Bucks failed to deliver on this season, which Brogdon will factor in heavily in trying to achieve next year, whether it’s clinching home court, earning a 50-win season or winning their first playoff series since 2001.

Aside from working on his craft this summer, Brogdon will also continue tending to his humanitarian efforts, which includes bringing clean drinking water to those in need in South Africa and elsewhere.
