Weaknesses

For as translatable as his game looks to be on many fronts, Thomas is certainly not without his flaws either.

Thomas’ natural position is point guard and while he’s certainly capable of initiating plays and creating scoring opportunities for himself at times, tasking him with leading an offense for significant stretches would be a risky proposition, due to his rudimentary ball handling and limited playmaking vision.

Along with that, Thomas’ developing handle also hinders his ability to knock down shots off the dribble, whether it’s from mid-range or from deep.

Additionally, while Thomas’ length stands as his one of his striking physical attributes, he stands undersized at 6’3″. As versatile as Thomas is, how he will withstand his lack of size when going against NBA-level athletes will be a wrinkle he’ll have to solve once he reaches the next level.

Lastly, the biggest question that revolves around Thomas is the fact that he’s 22 years old. With all the growth he’s exhibited on both ends of the floor during his time at Creighton, Thomas will have to assert that there’s still room for him to improve beyond where he stands now as a prospect.
