Milwaukee Bucks 2017-18 Season Review: Sterling Brown
Summer focus and final grade
Although it was a limited rookie season for the 48th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Brown has a foundation to build upon moving forward.
While the team’s search to find their new head coach is still ongoing, Brown factors to be one of the many players on the Bucks that could benefit with the new direction the Bucks are seeking to find.
There were many stops and starts, but we saw the type of impact Brown was able to provide when on point in just his first year in the league.
As he continues to adjust to the NBA level and refine his skill set, there’s no reason to think Brown couldn’t flourish under a coach that entrusts him to help set the tone in the ways we saw in fleeting glimpses during the year.
Simply put, as long as a player of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s all-encompassing abilities is leading the Bucks, the team will always be in need of complementary floor spacers who are able to guard multiple positions on the wing at a high level defensively.
Brown is just the latest find the Bucks have made to punctuate that point and if everything trends in the right direction regarding his development, he could become a vital piece in the team’s foundation in the years to come.
