Weaknesses

As much as a player of Evans’ skill set fills a need for any team in the NBA, the now-former Bearcat’s game isn’t without concerns as well.

For starters, Evans doesn’t possess a drop your jaw-like athletic ability, whether that’s in terms of his explosion or his straight line speed. While he’s certainly a fluid player, how his athletic limitations will rank going up against NBA-level athletes will be something to key in on throughout Evans’ first years in the league.

Those same athletic traits also hinder Evans’ ability to finish at the rim, at least from what he showed on the college level. As a result, Evans will have to rely on building up a good amount of craft at the bucket in the times he’s navigating his way in the paint or attacking closeouts.

Lastly, while Evans is able to create his own shot as well as scoring opportunities for others, his playmaking lacks some refinement.

Like in the case of his athleticism, Evans will certainly be put to the test when having to fend off tough, tenacious defenders when he’s looking to make plays with the ball in his hands.
