Quotes:

In his latest Big Board, The Step Back’s Trevor Magnotti succinctly sums up Evans’ game and the value he’ll bring now that he’s making the jump to the NBA:

"“A high-efficiency shooting wing with relentless hustle as a team defender. Evans is older, but could bring a lot of value to a competitive NBA team.”"

Before the start of his junior season this year, here’s what J.Z. Mazlish of The Stepien had to say about Evans’ well rounded game:

"“Evans doesn’t do one thing at an elite level and is limited outside of a strictly 3&D role, but 3&D players are in high enough demand he could still be a first round pick. A smart player who plays his role. If he can add shooting off-screens to his repertoire he will be in high demand.”"

Similarly, Chris Stone of the Sporting News acknowledges that while he may not possess the desired upside you’d like to see from a first round pick, Evans’ versatile game makes him an alluring role player all the same:

"“Evans is an impressive defender, on point with his rotations and capable of being disruptive to offensive actions. He’s also a career 37.7 percent 3-point shooter. There’s not a ton of upside here, but Evans rates out as one of the more promising 3-and-D prospects in the class.”"
