Chris Jent

A journeyman player who has since developed a lengthy and diverse range of experience as a coach, Chris Jent was another coach who joined the Hawks prior to the start of Budenholzer’s final season in Atlanta.

Along those same lines, it’s worth noting that Jent hadn’t previously worked alongside Budenholzer, meaning he lacks some of the history with the Bucks’ new coach that the rest of the staff all boast.

Jent had a lengthy career that saw him bounce between teams overseas and in the NBA, most notably picking up a championship with the Rockets in 1994.

Since pivoting to coaching, Jent has spent time as an assistant with the Philadelphia 76ers, Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers and Sacramento Kings. Jent’s time with the Magic also included an 18-game spell as the Magic’s interim coach in 2005.

Outside of the NBA, Jent also spent two spells as an assistant at his alma mater of Ohio State, as well as a single season in the D-League with the Bakersfield Jam.

Of all of the coaches on Budenholzer’s staff, it would seem least surprising if Jent wasn’t to make the move to Milwaukee alongside him.
