The best of Parker

Having missed the first three-and-a-half months of the season as he worked his way back from his second ACL injury, much of Parker’s athleticism and explosion remained intact following his second rehabilitation.

That was evidenced by the many vicious rack attacks he put on display in his limited showing this season, but Parker’s unique blend of ball skills and instant offense were on point in the times he was in attack mode.

Beyond that, though, Parker regained some of his scoring punch after being integrated in his bench role under former Bucks head coach Joe Prunty. In his 31 appearances with the Bucks this year, Parker posted 12.6 points on shooting splits of .482/.383/.741 across 24 minutes per game.

While it was a change that didn’t sit well with Parker, something that he didn’t hide his feelings about at various points, it may very well be something the Chicago native has to get used to as it may be better for him to flesh out his talents and maximize his workload in reserve level minutes.

But as was the case the first time he returned from injury, this season was more about Parker being able to recover back to the level of play he was at before his second knee injury.

While he may never fully realize the path he seemed destined to take a few years ago, Parker showcased why his talent package can still be of good use in the right role.
